There’s a coffee shop down a small alley in the Guting area of Taipei named Sugarman. It’s a quiet place with simple furnishings and simple food. The music was good (Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone) but sets of songs often repeated during our stay. I didn’t know whether the owner was trying to hint that extended occupations were unwelcome, or whether she just liked those particular songs.
I’ve noticed a curious thing about the vintage M42 Meyer Lydith 30mm I used for this, and the effect it has on the “aging” sensor of the GXR. Perhaps it’s because of the relatively low resolving power of the lens; it seems to suppress noise, even at ISO levels that would normally be far noisier in the shadows.
